Questions, answered

Everything people ask at the counter

The honest answers to the questions we hear most — from dietary options and dogs to catering quotes and evening hire.

It means we don’t hold a licence to sell alcohol — so there’s no beer, wine or spirits on the menu, and none served at private events either. For us it’s a deliberate choice: the café stays relaxed and family-friendly, and our drinks list goes deep on specialty coffee, loose-leaf teas, fresh-pressed juices and house-made coolers instead.

We’re open seven days a week: Monday to Friday 7:30am–5:00pm, Saturday 8:00am–5:00pm and Sunday 9:00am–4:00pm. The kitchen takes last orders 45 minutes before closing. Bank holiday hours can vary — check the contact page before a special trip.

No — we’re a walk-in café. Weekend mornings get busy between 10am and noon, but tables turn quickly and there’s always a coffee to keep you company while you wait. Groups of eight or more are welcome to give us a heads-up via the contact form so we can plan the room.

Plenty. Vegetarian and vegan dishes run through the whole menu — from the porridge and falafel wrap to the rainbow grain bowl — and many plates can be made gluten-free. Oat and soy milk carry no surcharge. Our kitchen handles all fourteen major allergens, so please tell us about any allergy before ordering and we’ll guide you through what’s safe that day.

Yes — for catering orders and private hire we can source halal-certified meat with notice, and much of the menu is naturally halal-friendly already (we’re alcohol-free throughout). Tell us your requirements when you enquire and we’ll build the menu accordingly.

Well-behaved dogs are welcome in the café and there’s always a water bowl by the door. After twenty years opposite the park, muddy paws don’t frighten us.

Weekdays, absolutely — settle in with a filter coffee and stay a while. At weekend peak times we gently ask laptop users to keep sessions short so brunchers can get a table. Free Wi-Fi is available; ask at the counter for the password.

Everything on the drinks menu and most of the food menu is available to take away. Bring your own reusable cup and we’ll knock 25p off any hot drink — a small thank-you that adds up over the years.

Send us your date, headcount and dietary needs through the contact form and we’ll reply with a menu and all-in quote within one working day. We deliver across Finsbury Park, Holloway, Highbury and Stroud Green with 72 hours’ notice where possible. Full details are on the catering page.

Yes — the café is available for evening private hire seven days a week, seating up to 30 (or 40 standing). Baby showers, book clubs, community suppers and small celebrations all work beautifully here. See packages and capacity on the private hire page, then check your date with us.

We’re at 1e Finsbury Park Road, London N4 2LA — about two minutes on foot from Finsbury Park station (Victoria and Piccadilly lines, plus National Rail). Cycle parking is right outside, and paid on-street parking is available on surrounding roads. There’s a map on the contact page.

Email info@sbrenterprisesltd.com or use the form on our contact page — we reply within one working day. For anything urgent on the day, just come in and ask at the counter.
