Fresh means fresh
Soups simmered in the morning, sandwiches built to order, pastries baked daily. If it can be made in our kitchen, it is — and if it can’t, we source it from suppliers we know and trust.
SBR ENTERPRISES LIMITED was incorporated on 4 June 2006 with a simple idea: give this corner of North London a café that takes its coffee and its community equally seriously. Twenty years on, that idea hasn’t changed.
When SBR Enterprises first opened its doors on Finsbury Park Road in the summer of 2006, this stretch of N4 was a very different place. The park was being lovingly restored, the station was busier every year, and the streets around it were filling with young families, artists, commuters and long-settled communities from every corner of the world.
What the area lacked was a proper neighbourhood café — somewhere that cooked real food, poured honest coffee and treated everyone who walked in like a regular. We set out to be that place, and we’ve been here ever since: same road, same values, same belief that a café should be the easiest room in the neighbourhood to walk into.
We are a small, independent limited company — registered in England & Wales, company number 05846304 — and proud of it. Every decision, from the beans we brew to the bread we toast, is made here in Finsbury Park, not in a head office somewhere else.
SBR ENTERPRISES LIMITED is incorporated on 4 June 2006 and opens its café at 1e Finsbury Park Road — espresso machine, a handful of tables, and a lot of belief.
Responding to the neighbourhood’s appetite, the café evolves from coffee and pastries into a full kitchen operation, serving all-day brunch and lunch cooked fresh on site.
Through the disruption of the pandemic years, the café adapts with takeaway service and keeps pouring for key workers, park walkers and locals — a small constant in a strange time.
SBR Enterprises marks two decades in Finsbury Park — still independent, still alcohol-free, still pouring the first flat white of the day as the shutters go up.
Soups simmered in the morning, sandwiches built to order, pastries baked daily. If it can be made in our kitchen, it is — and if it can’t, we source it from suppliers we know and trust.
Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free dishes are part of the menu’s fabric, and our alcohol-free room welcomes families, teetotallers and anyone who simply prefers their evenings clear-headed.
We keep our prices fair, our door open seven days a week, and our ears open to the people who actually live and work around Finsbury Park. Regulars’ feedback has shaped this menu for twenty years.
No franchise manual, no central commissary kitchen, no scripts. Just a small North London company doing things its own way since 2006 — and answering to its customers, not shareholders.
“Being unlicensed isn’t what we lack — it’s what we chose. The spotlight stays on the coffee, the cooking and the company.”
Come and see what two decades of practice tastes like — you’ll find us at 1e Finsbury Park Road, London N4 2LA.
